Our Services
Through practical messages, a blend of music styles, and multimedia presentations, we present the ageless truths of the Bible in a format that’s easy to understand, even if you’ve never been to church. Why not come out and see what Sheffield Chapel is all about. We have a basic order of worship at Sheffield Chapel. We gather to Him in praise, we listen to His Word, we respond to Him with thanks, and we depart to live out His Word. If there is anything we can do to make your worship experience more meaningful, please let us know. We have an infant and toddler nursery downstairs for your convenience.
What should I wear?
Simple… whatever makes you comfortable. You will see a few ties on our men, but most of our people prefer casual dress. The Bible teaches that God is more concerned with a person’s heart than their clothes.
What kind of people will be there?
We have a good cross-section of people from surrounding communities, whose most common characteristic is that they enjoy worshipping together in our relaxed environment and seeking the Creator for answers to life’s questions.
What about the music?
The music is live and alive. It is a blend of contemporary and hymn styles. We seek to worship the Creator, so our music is more about Jesus Christ than it is about us.
Not another boring sermon!
No way, we’ve heard far too many boring sermons elsewhere to do that to you! The pastor gives practical messages that help you deal with real life issues. You won’t ever leave after a service wondering what the point of the message was. What you learn on Sunday you’ll be able to use during the week, the essence of what church is supposed to be - learning to live in a way that brings lasting peace, joy and most importantly, living in a way that pleases God.
What about a formal offering?
At Sheffield Chapel, we do not pressure guests and members with a formal offering. We believe that God supplies the resources for His work through His people. Instead, contributions to the Lord’s work are placed into an offering box, which is secured after every service. “Let each one do just as he has purposed in his heart; not grudgingly or under compulsion; for God loves a cheerful giver” 2 Corinthians 9:7
When does it all happen?
Sunday School for all ages, including adults, begins at 9:30. Devotional materials are provided that help individuals draw closer to God during the week. Class participation is encouraged but purely optional. Coffee, donuts and fellowship follow the learning hour, until the worship service begins at 10:45 AM. The service lasts approximately one hour to one hour and fifteen minutes, but it seems like less. A mid-week service takes place on Wednesday that begins at 7:00 PM.
